Measuring Impact Effectively

Impact is at the core of everything we do. Starting with our mission to put people, planet, and progress at the heart of markets – and continuing through partnerships with government, private sector and civil society to change systems for the better.

We focus our work on three impact areas – better jobs, better income and better environment – with gender equity always front of mind. By working together with our partners across the entire value chain to generate impact in these areas, we contribute to selected United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:

In this way, everyone plays their part to deliver results in sector governance, business practice and field-level innovation. The part we play is as a convenor, learner and innovator, and co-financer – and we measure our impact by our progress in these areas.

We measure our impact through what we achieve in our roles of convenor, learner and innovator, and co-financer as we work towards better jobs, better income, better environment and gender equity for all.

Improved sector governance, in terms of laws, regulations and standards that create an enabling environment for sustainable development;

Improved business practices of the main business actors in a value chain, including sustainable procurement practices and service delivery;

Testing and proving the business case for field-level innovations that private sector companies can adopt and bring to scale.

We believe that systems change is needed to achieve impact at scale.
